Sisal Art
- The ivory colored fibres of sisal are obtained from swaying reeds of the marshes of Bastar district.
- Traditionally, the women folk twisted this soft and sturdy natural fibre into ropes for the cattle, but today it is used to make potholders, bags, mats, hammocks, dolls and other decorative and utilitarian items as well.
- The craft is practiced in narayanpur,Kondagaon and Bastar District of the State.
